Schedule

Multiple shifts available, with in-times varying from 3 PM to 7 PM. Candidates must be willing to work 6 weekend days within 6 weeks and commit to 2 on-call shifts within the same timeframe.

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care for a diverse patient population, including clinic patients, strokes, STEMIs, Level I traumas, post-surgical complications, pregnancy complications, pediatrics, behavioral health, and a variety of emergency situations. The nurse practices independently, demonstrating a strong awareness of clinical situations and providing both routine and complex care while effectively managing long-range goals.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols, and monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in an Emergency Department (Level 1, 2, or 3 Trauma) within the last year required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only) required.
• Current TNCC certification required.
• RN License in the state of New Mexico or compact license required.
