Night shifts: 3x12 hours (18:45 - 07:15). Flexibility for day/night rotation may be requested.

Job Description

The Neuro ICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care to critically ill stroke patients and non-traumatic neurosurgery and neurology patients aged 18 and older. The nurse will participate in post-operative care for various neurosurgery procedures and ensure high standards of monitoring and intervention.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with complex neurological conditions.
• Provide care post IV and/or IA tPA administration, mechanical thrombectomy, and other neurosurgical procedures.
• Administer CRRT and ventilator management.
• Implement ICP monitoring and hemodynamic monitoring as required.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, and Respiratory Services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Neuro ICU.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with neuro-endovascular procedures such as EVD, angiograms, and post care is required.
• Preferred experience with trauma level I and II, and in community and LTAC hospitals.
• Epic charting system experience is heavily preferred.
