Schedule

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours per week with a weekend rotation. Willingness to float to SSH Cincinnati and SSH North KY is required.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care through intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed. This role involves evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures, and providing necessary discharge education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments and therapies using various ventilatory and aerosol equipment.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and promote secretion clearance.
• Administer suctioning and monitor oximetry and capnography.
• Review chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies.
• Assist in procedures related to respiratory care and perform tracheostomy care.
• Perform arterial punctures and monitor ventilation efficiency.
• Facilitate equipment maintenance and repairs as necessary.
• Document treatments and patient responses accurately.
• Communicate effectively with attending physicians regarding therapy efficiency.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charging and data entry.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Valid respiratory therapy license and BLS/ACLS certification are required.
