Schedule

The shifts vary, they are 0545-1415, 0600-1430, 0830-1700, and 1300-2130. Call is required 1 day per week and parts of 2 weekends in a 6-week schedule.

Job Description

The Professional Registered Nurse in surgery will function as a circulating nurse, responsible for patient safety before, during, and after surgical procedures. The role demands appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, adhering to established standards utilizing AORN Standards and Recommended Practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety throughout the surgical process.
• Conduct pre-op, intra-op, and post-op assessments and care.
• Join and function effectively as a team member within the surgical unit.
• Demonstrate knowledge of asepsis and infection control principles.
• Evaluate patient care delivery in alignment with AORN guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN licensure.
• 2 years of experience in a surgical specialty preferred.
• Level 2 trauma experience preferred.
• CNOR certification preferred, but not required for RN Circulator.
• BLS certification required within the orientation period.
• Experience with Cerner required.
• Must meet a 50-mile radius rule for candidates.
