Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while fostering a focus on patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify patient and family teaching needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, prioritizing education based on patients' health needs.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide necessary patient education.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating as appropriate.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to the unit environment through team collaboration and efficiency.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following the orientation period.
• Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
