Registered Nurse - Surgical Center

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

8 hr shifts; 0615-1445 Mon-Fri; no weekends, holidays, or call.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will assess and respond to the individual physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patient through personal observation and interaction, acting as a patient advocate. Utilizing professional nursing skills and judgment, the nurse will implement care and communicate patient assessments to ensure the coordination of care.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and respond to individual needs.
• Utilize professional nursing judgment to implement nursing care.
• Communicate assessments and coordinate care effectively.
• Demonstrate knowledge of diagnostic measures and skills in IV therapy.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately.
• Document patient clinical records with accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide education and appropriate instructions to patients and families.
• Maintain supplies and assist with housekeeping duties as needed.
• Assess and provide nursing care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Familiarize with transfer processes for patients to the medical center.
• Work as a float nurse, maintaining communication across departments.
• Participate in pain management and eye laser procedures as assigned.
• Assist with emergency protocols, including knowledge of necessary supplies.
• Contribute to team meetings and suggest improvements.
