Job Description

To provide quality nursing care to all patients. Serve as a viable member of the nursing staff, utilizing scope of practice and providing care to all patients with respect for patient rights and dignity. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on assigned area of Long Term Care facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a respectful manner.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and medical staff.
• Participate in special committees as appropriate.
• Maintain competencies for position and ensure successful patient outcomes.
• Utilize medical equipment as needed to monitor patient conditions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited LPN or LVN program.
• New graduates accepted; one year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
• Must be licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a LPN.
• Current CPR certification (BCLS) required.
• IV certification course completion preferred.
