Schedule

Shift: Multiple shifts available, including a 15:00-03:00 rotation. Must work 6 weekend days over 6 weeks and be available for 2 on-call shifts during that period.

Job Description

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides both routine and complex care to a diverse patient population, including clinic patients, stroke patients, STEMIs, Level I traumas, and post-surgical complications. The nurse will work with patients experiencing pregnancy complications, pediatrics, behavioral health issues, and other emergency department scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate effective nursing competencies and manage a clinical situation independently.
• Utilize the nursing process for assigned patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health management and disease prevention.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• At least one year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
• Current RN License in the state of New Mexico or compact.
• Must have recent ER experience (trauma I, II, or III).
