CVICU RN - Nights - 3x12 Hour Shifts

3x12 hour night shifts from 19:30 to 08:00, with weekend and holiday requirements.

Job Description

The CVICU RN will provide critical care to patients following cardiac surgery and manage complex health conditions in an adult and geriatric population. The role includes the immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients and involves advanced monitoring and interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients in the CVICU with a focus on cardiac surgery recovery.
• Manage ventilator settings and collaborate with respiratory therapy.
• Administer medications, including continuous IV drips and sedation.
• Monitor cardiac status, interpret EKGs, and respond to emergency situations.
• Assist with chest tube management and other invasive procedures.
• Participate in patient care planning with multidisciplinary teams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• RN license in Maryland or compact state.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in CVICU or related specialty, 2+ years preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:2 in CVICU.
