Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the Select Medical Way and Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission.
• Collaborate with patients/families and the Interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate relevant patient status changes to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel and delegate appropriately.
• Maintain an environment of personal and environmental safety following hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit dynamics through calm direction and teamwork.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education efforts.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
• No holiday requests for time off will be accepted.
