Job Description

The Inpatient Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) will provide specialized nursing care for patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence issues. This role requires an experienced RN with a focus on wound care and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence issues.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Perform wound care procedures including dressing changes, debridement, and infection control.
• Educate patients and families regarding ostomy care and wound management.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with healthcare team members.
• Document patient progress and outcomes in the electronic health record.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state.
• Wound Care Certification (WCC) required.
• BLS certification required.
• Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification (WOCN) preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience in wound care.
