Computed Tomography (CT Scan) Technologist

Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT scan) Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, Clinical Specialist, Manager, and Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a fast-paced, Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. In this role, you will utilize your specific modality to create diagnostic images and ensure a safe and positive experience for patients. Technologists will support teaching and continue learning as technology evolves. In addition to trauma and emergency room scanning, technologists will perform CT exams on outpatients, inpatients (both stable and those receiving intensive care), research patients, and those requiring specialized CT scan-guided procedures. Practicing and enforcing radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health code part 16 is essential.

Schedule

Monday - Thursday, 12:30 PM - 11 PM (no on-call responsibilities)

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Education: Must be a graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School and possess a high school diploma.
• Licensure: New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or a limited permit to practice in New York.
• Certification: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR, or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
• Entry Level: Limited or no experience; MIT level assignment based on skill set and experience.
