LPN Medical Surgical - 13-Week Contract Position

This position follows a 3x12 hour shift from 19:00 to 07:00, including every other weekend and participation in holiday shifts as needed.

Job Description

The LPN will provide nursing care in a Medical Surgical setting, responsible for taking own patient assignments under the support of an RN. The role requires acute care experience and proficiency in various clinical skills suited to the medical patient population.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and perform pain assessments.
• Administer medications and provide wound care.
• Facilitate communication of patient status changes to RN/MD.
• Manage feeding tubes and perform Foley catheter insertions.
• Participate in telemetry monitoring and perform 12-lead EKGs.
• Ensure adherence to isolation precautions and physical restraints protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New York Single State LPN license required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• At least 1 year of acute care experience within the last 2 years.
• Familiarity with EPIC charting is mandatory.
