Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Care Unit will provide care for patients recovering from cardiac surgeries. The nurse will manage fresh open-heart admissions from the OR and monitor patients with complex cardiac conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct open heart admissions from the OR.
• Monitor patients requiring advanced cardiac care, including pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz management.
• Oversee the use and management of Impella devices and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
• Administer care for ventilated patients and manage dysrhythmias.
• Perform pre/post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients.
• Assist with the insertion/removal of chest tubes and management of arterial lines.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a critical care setting.
• Current RN License (WV or compact license acceptable).
• ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Experience managing complex patients, including those with multi-system organ dysfunction.
• Travel experience is preferred but not required.
