Job Description

The Medical Surgical Unit consists of 52 private rooms and has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6-7, mainly 1:7 for both day and night shifts. Staff includes a Charge Nurse who takes a full patient assignment with support from Clinical Assistants and CNA's. This unit sees a variety of patients, including post-operative orthopedic, neurological, and general surgical cases, as well as medical diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients on the Medical Surgical Unit.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the Charge Nurse.
• Assist with basic patient needs and support the clinical team.
• Participate in patient education and advocacy.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• NIHSS certification is required.
• ACLS certification is a plus.
• Active nursing license required.
