Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). The ideal candidate will demonstrate cardiac critical care experience and possess advanced skills necessary for managing post-operative patients, particularly those recovering from open-heart procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care for patients in a 12-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
• Adhere to a patient care ratio of 1 RN to 2 patients, adjusting based on patient acuity.
• Utilize standard critical care equipment including Impella and Hemosphere advance monitoring platform.
• Participate in rapid responses and code blue situations as part of the critical care team.
• Ensure excellent patient experience by explaining care and medications, and responding timely to call lights.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required; CCRN certification is a plus.
• Experience in cardiac critical care is essential.
• Proficiency in caring for patients post open-heart surgery and experience with CRRT is advantageous.
