Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients, including those recovering from cardiac procedures. The position requires a strong clinical background and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage critical care for up to 2 patients at a time, maintaining the highest standards of care.
• Utilize advanced equipment including Impella and Hemosphere for monitoring and patient care.
• Provide post-operative care for patients who have undergone open-heart surgery.
• Participate in rapid response and code blue situations as part of the critical care team.
• Ensure timely communication with patients regarding their care and medications.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required; CCRN certification is a plus.
• Experience in cardiac critical care is necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to care for post-operative cardiac patients, specifically within 1 to 2 days post-procedure.
