Job Description

The CVICU Travel Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment across multiple facilities. Nurses in this role will float between five hospitals based on staffing needs, requiring versatility and adaptability in patient care approaches.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage complex cardiac patients in a critical care setting.
• Provide post-operative care to patients recovering from open-heart surgery.
• Administer medications and manage various medical equipment, including balloon pumps and ECMO.
• Conduct assessments and interpret diagnostic results to make informed care decisions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of CVICU experience required, with documented open-heart recovery experience.
• Experience with procedural cardiac devices such as LVADs and Impella.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
• Proficiency in using the EPIC charting system.
• Active NJ or Compact RN license required.
