Full time, 36 hours/week with 3 shifts of 12 hours each, including every other weekend and holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will assess patients' respiratory care needs, plan and perform treatment modalities, and ensure optimal patient and family experiences. NICU experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document thorough patient assessments.
• Establish appropriate care plans.
• Communicate with the patient care team.
• Administer aerosolized medications and manage secretion techniques.
• Provide pulmonary volume expansion and oxygen therapy.
• Initiate and manage mechanical ventilators as per protocols.
• Educate patients and families regarding disease management.
• Assist in intra-hospital transport of mechanically ventilated patients.
• Manage acute airway situations in emergencies.
• Collect arterial blood gas samples and process them.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information following HIPAA regulations.
• Act as Shift Coordinator when designated and function as a preceptor for newcomers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program required.
• Current Pennsylvania License.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification.
• S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification preferred.
