(3) 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, working every other weekend.

Job Description

The Postpartum RN provides leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, the RN will provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and their families. The nurse will effectively communicate pertinent patient information to the healthcare team, participate in finding solutions for variances from patient goals, and ensure implementation of those solutions.

Responsibilities

• Formulate effective nursing care plans using clinical knowledge and analytical abilities.
• Perform a wide variety of professional nursing services in postpartum care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
• Participate in resolving issues that affect patient care outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Postpartum nursing experience.
• High-risk experience preferred.
• Neonatal resuscitation certification.
• BLS certification.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
