Radiologic Technologist

Location

The position is available in a Level II Trauma Center.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position, with the possibility of extension.

Schedule

The shift is from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM with a schedule of four 10-hour shifts and a rotation every third weekend. Candidates must be willing to take on-call duties for weekends and midnight shifts.

Job Description

Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs Radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological entities as ordered by a physician. The role includes utilizing independent judgment in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices, while following department protocols.

Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations.
• Review clinical data and obtain patient medical history as necessary.
• Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock such as linen and supplies regularly.
• Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform Radiologic procedures.
• Select and administer intravenous contrast media and monitor for reactions.
• Demonstrate principles of radiation protection and ensure optimal patient safety.
• Complete all necessary documentation and maintain accurate patient records.
• Assist in teaching new hires and students as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2-3 years of Radiologic experience, particularly in OR settings such as neuro and vascular procedures.
• Must hold ARRT (R) certification and BCLS certification.
• Must be registered in Radiography or registry eligible (with registry to be obtained within 6 months of hire).
