Shifts are from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend required.
Job Description
Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological entities as ordered by a physician. This role involves utilizing independent judgment in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices in accordance with department protocols.
Responsibilities
- Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations.
- Review clinical data and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining additional medical history as needed.
- Prepare the procedure room and monitor inventory of supplies.
- Analyze anatomical structures and perform radiologic procedures, manually controlling equipment for proper diagnostic imaging.
- Select and administer intravenous contrast media, monitoring patients for possible reactions.
- Adhere to radiation protection principles and infection control practices.
- Complete necessary logs, patient records, and documentation accurately.
- Assist in educating new hires and students.
- Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery to PACS.
- Index studies within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Maintain open communication and uphold team member standards of excellence.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or registry eligible (must obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a Radiologic Technologist role with Level I or II Trauma experience in OR.
- Familiarity with GE, Carestream, OEC C-Arms, and Cerner Epic systems preferred.
