Job Description

Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs various radiologic procedures as ordered by physicians. This role involves utilizing independent judgment to determine the appropriate techniques, positioning, and safety practices, while also providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examination.
• Review clinical data and obtain patient medical history as necessary.
• Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock as needed.
• Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform radiologic procedures.
• Select and administer intravenous contrast media while monitoring patients for reactions.
• Ensure radiation protection principles are followed during imaging procedures.
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment and monitors for procedures.
• Complete documentation in medical records and radiology information systems.
• Educate and mentor new hires as required.
• Confirm clinical protocols with the Radiologist prior to procedures.
• Demonstrate team standards of excellence and effective communication.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or registry eligible.
• Healthcare Provider Certification (BCLS) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level I or II Trauma setting, particularly in the Operating Room.
