Medical Technologist

Job Description

The Medical Technologist demonstrates critical thinking skills, judgment, and leadership in the practice of laboratory technology. The role is responsible and accountable for the efficient planning, directing, and accurate provision of all laboratory testing in the assigned area of licensure. The Medical Technologist practices in accordance with laboratory policies, procedures, regulatory standards, recognized testing techniques, and administrative policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform all laboratory testing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory policies and regulatory standards.
• Utilize critical thinking and judgment in daily operations.
• Lead and train junior staff as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have 5 years of recent experience as a Medical Technologist.
• ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist is required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Experience in blood bank, MTS gel, and tube methods.
• Familiarity with Beckman Coulter hematology (520 and 690), manual differential, body fluid cell count and differential procedures, Werfen Top coagulation instrumentation, and urine microscopic procedures is necessary.

Schedule

Shifts will be Wednesday through Tuesday from 12:00 PM to 11:30 PM, working 7 days on and 7 days off.
