Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed and supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify patient teaching needs and goals, collaborating with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Train and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately.
• Facilitate a positive work environment through teamwork and effective communication.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested, after the orientation period.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for professional growth and development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (for relevant positions).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
• No holiday requests for time off (RTO) allowed.
