Mammography Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, working five 8-hour shifts per week, with every other weekend included and no holidays or on-call duties.

Job Description

The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing mammography examinations in compliance with ACR requirements. This position assists with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, and other radiologic guided procedures at the Breast Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations on diverse patient populations.
• Conduct mammographic imaging for breast needle localization and stereotactic procedures.
• Assist in procedures using ultrasound guidance.
• Provide proper patient film identification and documentation.
• Conduct quality control procedures under the supervision of the Chief Mammography Technologist.
• Document relevant patient information and assist with education on breast self-exams and procedural instructions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist.
• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Must hold ARRT certification and acquire mammography certification within three months of employment.
• Active Diagnostic Radiography License is required.
