Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, 36 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care during the antepartum, intrapatum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care to Labor and Delivery patients. This includes utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for safe delivery of care, while maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to Labor and Delivery patients throughout various phases of obstetrical care.
• Utilize the Nursing Process while adhering to state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in delivering patient care.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have BLS, ALS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring Certification.
• Must have travel experience in Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, and well baby care.
