Night shift; 3x12.0 hours per week, with rotating weekends and holidays.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish individualized care plans.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in medical records.
- Participate in the rehabilitation program, focusing on patient education to promote quality outcomes.
- Initiate discharge planning on day of admission and provide teaching related to discharge needs.
- Maintain communication regarding changes in patients' status to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel while effectively utilizing problem-solving techniques.
- Contribute to a positive work environment through team-building activities and calm direction.
- Assume charge responsibility as requested after the orientation period.
- Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (for specific locations).
- Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
