Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Neurosurgery)

Schedule

Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM. Call requirement includes one weekday per week and one weekend per month, with weekend call being 24 hours from Friday at 3 PM to Monday at 7 AM.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Registered Nurse with strong neurosurgery experience to join our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in acute care, specifically in the operating room with a focus on neurosurgery cases, alongside some general surgery and orthopedic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room environment.
• Assist in neurosurgical procedures, including craniotomies and other invasive surgeries.
• Utilize advanced OR equipment such as robotic surgical systems, microscopes, and other necessary tools.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain a sterile and safe operating environment in compliance with hospital policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Strong background in neurosurgery preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses not accepted).
• Experience with robotic surgical systems and Meditech documentation preferred.
