Nights Medical Surgical Nurse Position

Schedule

The schedule is for night shifts, with a 3x12-hour rotation from 18:45 to 07:15. Weekend shifts are required, with a patient ratio of 1:5-6.

Job Description

This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a medical surgical unit with a daily census of 25 beds. The nurse will be expected to float within the scope of the unit's needs as required.

Responsibilities

The nurse will be responsible for:

• Administering blood products and managing colostomy care
• Providing care and management for feeding tubes
• Performing insulin and heparin administration
• Monitoring patients using telemetry and administering oxygen therapy
• Caring for patients pre and post hemodialysis
• Managing tracheostomy care and wound care
• Starting and maintaining IVs and peripheral line management

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Candidates must have:

• At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a similar setting
• Experience with Epic documentation system
• Current BLS certification
• Valid Oklahoma or Compact RN license at the time of submission
