Job Description

The Practical Nurse assists in the delivery of quality healthcare by exercising sound nursing judgment in accordance with recognized healthcare techniques, procedures, and established standards and administrative policies. Actively participates as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care and treatment, including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Utilize various types of equipment for examination and treatment procedures.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with patients and healthcare providers.
• React calmly and effectively during emergency situations.
• Identify and analyze problems, prioritize tasks, and recommend effective solutions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• One year nursing experience preferred.
• Active Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, renewed every two years.
