Job Description

We are looking for a skilled PCU Nurse to provide high-quality support and care to patients in our progressive care unit. The ideal candidate will possess critical thinking skills, a strong background in cardiac care, and experience with various medical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the progressive care unit with a focus on cardiac and critical conditions.
• Perform hourly rounding and maintain communication boards to enhance patient experience.
• Assist with procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, and tube insertions.
• Support and mentor nursing staff and assist with patient flow and care delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in EKG rhythm interpretation and managing cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips.
• Knowledge and experience with peritoneal dialysis preferred.
• Proficiency with bipaps, high flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems.
• Experience with post-cardiac catheterization care and stroke management is preferred.
• Familiarity with wound vac troubleshooting and care for tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes.
