Job Description

The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse utilizes clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. The RN plays a critical role in the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), caring for over 4,000 cardiology patients annually, and participating in various procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. The unit also specializes in caring for patients with congestive heart failure and conducting electrophysiology studies. The CVU has received recognition for its exceptional performance and was awarded a Silver level Beacon Award.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Cardiovascular Unit.
• Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1+ year of experience in a Cardiovascular nursing role.
• Proficiency in cardiac care.
• Comfortability with EKG interpretation.
• Must be willing to float to similar units when required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Valid Michigan nursing license required.
