12-hour night shifts; Weekend nights from 7 PM to 7 AM with holiday rotation.

Job Description

The 8 Northeast unit specializes in providing high-quality care to patients with various medical and surgical needs, particularly focusing on trauma patients. This includes individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and complex trauma. The unit also caters to patients needing advanced respiratory care and those undergoing reconstructive plastic surgery.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to a diverse patient population, primarily consisting of trauma and general medical/surgical patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, performing strong assessments in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage and titrate intravenous drips as necessary.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective care plans are implemented and followed.
• Participate in patient mobilization efforts using in-ceiling lifts for enhanced safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
• Previous experience in a step-down unit or similar healthcare setting is beneficial.
