Registered Radiation Therapist

Schedule

Day shift: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. No call, no weekends, no holidays.

Job Description

The Registered Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering radiation therapy and providing patient care in a clinical setting. The role requires meeting qualifications for care in specific age ranges and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and answer patient questions.
• Schedule treatments in oncology information management system and provide a copy to the patient.
• Position patients for treatment, reproducing simulation setup and obtaining required imaging.
• Maintain and observe accessory medical equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
• Monitor patient nutrition status, side effects, and emotional health, notifying the physician of significant issues.
• Review treatment records for completeness and accuracy.
• Perform quality assurance checklists and equipment warm-up procedures.
• Maintain compliance with Radiation Safety requirements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be a registered radiation therapist.
• Experience with Varian True Beams required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
