Day shift, 8x5; 40 hours/week (3 PM - 11:30 PM), every other weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care managing a group of patients as the primary nurse or accountable nurse.
• Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
• Administers medications safely according to United Health Services policy.
• Shares in the responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing and time management.
• Complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives.
• Engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education requirements.
• Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Nursing (RN) experience of six (6) months to three (3) years.
• Management experience of zero (0) to three (3) years.
• Five plus (5) years of direct experience.
• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
