Pediatric Operating Room Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts consist of 2-eight and 2-twelve hour shifts, preferably 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM on 8-hour days. Weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled. 1 call shift per week and 1-2 weekend calls are required.

Job Description

The Pediatric Operating Room Nurse will be part of a team providing care in a Level 1 trauma center. The role includes handling 15-28 cases per day with a focus on various surgical procedures including tonsillectomies, hypospadias repairs, craniotomies, cardiac surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and execution of surgical procedures.
• Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients.
• Manage operating room protocols in compliance with safety and efficiency standards.
• Float to 5 North/1 West and Children's units as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS certification is required.
• Pediatric operating room experience is preferred.
• Neuro experience is essential.
• Active nursing license valid for the position is required.
