Job Description

The competent Nurse practices independently in an emergency department setting, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex clinical care while managing contingencies and appropriate delegations to other care providers.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, family members, and caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required (AHA only).
• RN License in the state of Texas or compact state.
