Schedule

7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 8 hour shifts M-Tu-Th, plus two Wednesdays a month as needed. One Saturday a month required.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for providing immobilization devices as required and operating Nuclear Medicine equipment as directed. This role involves evaluating radio images using the PACS System to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value, administering radiopharmaceuticals, performing radionuclide procedures, and assisting physicians in therapeutic radioisotope applications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
  • Perform organ imaging and function studies along with therapeutic procedures.
  • Calibrate equipment and assay radio nuclides.
  • Receive and inspect radiopharmaceutical packages in accordance with state and NRC guidelines.
  • Maintain records of radioisotope receipt, use, storage, and disposal according to regulations.
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness to maintain contamination-free conditions.
  • Rotate work assignments as needed, including Cardiology and PET/CT.
  • Perform clerical duties related to patient scheduling and computer processing.
  • Adhere to policies regarding attendance, punctuality, and behavior.
  • Identify and address the needs of diverse patient populations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a busy hospital setting as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology required.
  • Must hold a valid NJDEP license.
  • ARRT or NMTCB registry is required.
  • BLS certification by American Heart Association is required.
