Schedule / Shift

Multiple shifts available (in-time can vary from 3pm - 7pm). Weekend requirement: 6 weekend days worked per 6 weeks. On-call requirement: 2 on-call shifts are required per 6 weeks.

Job Description

The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments; monitor for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members and/or care givers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS certification from AHA required.
• Current ACLS certification from AHA required.
• Current PALS certification from AHA required.
• Current TNCC certification required.
• RN License in the state of employment or compact.
