Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (18:30 - 07:00); Day Shift: 3x12-Hour (06:30 - 19:00)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide patient care in a Med/Surg setting, focusing on adult and geriatric patients. The responsibilities include managing various medical conditions, administering treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Access and manage ports, administer blood products, and provide colostomy care.
• Perform central line blood draws and manage feeding tubes.
• Maintain isolation precautions and manage medications, including insulin and heparin.
• Cares for patients with bowel obstructions and assists with surgical drains.
• Provide telemetry monitoring and respond to rapid response/codes as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active PA or Compact RN license required.
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience preferred.
• Experience with the Cerner charting system is preferred.
• Flu vaccine required; exemptions considered for medical or religious reasons.
