Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift, 3x12.0 Schedule

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is closely followed. In this role, the RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while providing a safe and effective care environment for patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and create individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals by collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical record accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, emphasizing education based on healthcare needs.
• Initiate discharge planning at admission and begin patient education in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care among healthcare providers.
• Supervise and provide training to ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring proper delegation of tasks.
• Uphold patient and employee safety standards while fostering a positive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and contribute to a collaborative unit atmosphere.
• Engage in continuous professional development through education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN License
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY)
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required

Schedule

This position requires a day shift schedule of 3x12.0 hours, with every third weekend commitment.
