Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by administering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed. This role demands evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and delivering education upon discharge. Responsibilities include operating ventilatory equipment, administering medications, and performing necessary treatments such as chest physiotherapy and suctioning.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Operate various ventilatory and oxygen delivery equipment.
• Administer physician-prescribed treatments and medications.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning as needed.
• Conduct oximetry and capnography monitoring.
• Review patient's chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with respiratory care procedures like bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care and arterial punctures according to policy.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate with physicians.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Ensure proper maintenance and operation of respiratory equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Respiratory Therapist license.
• Relevant experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
