Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12-hour schedule (07:00 - 19:30) with mandatory weekend shifts (four per month, including Friday or Saturday nights) and on-call requirements (twice a month).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery will be responsible for providing high-quality care to low and high-risk obstetric patients. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in maternal and neonatal nursing care, including the ability to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, and adeptly use external fetal monitoring. The nurse may need to float to other areas such as Perinatal and will be placed on call if not needed for a scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in Labor & Delivery.
• Utilize external fetal monitoring and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Circumvent surgical procedures such as C-sections as required.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including OB hospitalists and anesthesiologists.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Must have EPIC experience.
• Active California RN license.
• Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
