Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse

Schedule

This position is for a 12-hour day shift, with varied hours between 7 AM to 7 PM.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process. The nurse will assess and manage high-risk pregnancies, including conditions such as preeclampsia, diabetes, and preterm labor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record vital signs and fetal heart tones.
• Administer medications and initiate intrapartum care.
• Assess patients' conditions and respond appropriately.
• Educate and support patients and families regarding labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure the best outcomes for mothers and newborns.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• AWHONN certification.
• Experience with Cerner Electronic Health Records.
• Willingness to work 2 major and 1 minor holiday.
