Professional Staff Nurse - Rotating Shift - 12 x 3

Job Description

The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for setting the standards for the level and quality of care. This role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision, while managing and providing patient care activities for a group of patients and their families. The nurse applies independent judgment, communicates effectively, and collaborates with all team members to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Responsibilities

• Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors.
• Participate actively in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts.
• Utilize research and evidence-based practice to support improvements in clinical care.
• Apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment.
• Formulate daily goals and plans of care that involve the patient as a partner.
• Demonstrate critical thinking in identifying clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues.
• Communicate effectively with care providers and patients.
• Provide detailed teaching to patients and families about their care.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Schedule

This position operates on a rotating shift schedule of 12 hours per shift, 3 days per week.
