Preoperative / PACU Registered Nurse

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position. The shift schedule includes a mix of weeknight calls from 9 PM to 7 AM and one 24-hour weekend call from 7 AM to 7 AM. Expect roughly 3-4 weeknight calls and one weekend call during an 8-week period, with potential variations in call requirements based on staffing needs.

Unit Overview

This community hospital operates 7 operating rooms, specializing in Neuro, Plastics, ENT, Breast, General, GYN, Urology, Ortho, Vascular, and Endoscopy procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care in alignment with established protocols.
• Assist with patient assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
• Administer medications and monitor patient vitals throughout the perioperative process.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and recovery protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Completion of pharmacology and rhythm interpretation exams required for onboarding.
• Healthcare certifications such as BLS and ACLS may be preferred.
• Experience in perioperative or PACU settings is highly desirable.
