MRI Technologist

Job Description

The MRI Technologist plays a crucial role in performing magnetic resonance imaging on patients, utilizing highly technical equipment and administering contrast materials as required. This position involves various responsibilities to ensure high-quality patient care and accurate imaging results.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the scan room and the patient for examination.
• Draw up IV contrast if needed; administer oral contrast if indicated; perform warm-up procedures on equipment; enter patient data and scan parameters; review patient data for proper exam.
• Interview and screen patients for contraindications; explain the MRI procedure and answer patient questions.
• Transport patients into the exam room, assist in patient positioning, inject appropriate IV contrast, and perform scans while monitoring image quality.
• Ensure proper orientation marking and order of images entered into the system.
• Prepare records for radiologist review, ensuring all clinical information and exam images are correctly organized.

Schedule

This position requires a 5 x 8 hours shift, from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with a guaranteed 40 hours per week. Additionally, there will be one weekend per month from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year MRI experience (required)
• Siemens Equipment experience (required)
• Active MRI Certification through the American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (required)
• Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
• Work history and skills checklist relevant to MRI (documentation required)
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required)
