Travel Med Surg LPN/LVN

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend required. Floating and on-call duty may be needed, though rarely.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN or LVN) is accountable for providing delegated aspects of direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership skills to ensure the safe delivery of care. Responsibilities include maintaining clinical competencies, delegating patient care priorities, and providing direction to assigned personnel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical examinations and data collection.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Administer medications and peripheral IV therapy.
• Participate in discharge planning and implementation of physician's orders.
• Document patient care activities and maintain accurate records.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have at least 1 year of LPN/LVN experience.
• BLS and IV certification are required.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
• Fingerprinting is required for all travelers in New Mexico.
