Job Description

The 3 South unit specializes in the care of patients with neurological and stroke-related conditions. The Registered Nurse (RN) will deliver patient-centered care to a diverse population, focusing on those aged young adult through geriatric. The primary patient population includes individuals requiring medical-surgical level monitoring and interventions, with specific attention to neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a mixed population of medical and surgical patients.
• Monitor patient conditions continuously using telemetry and oximetry.
• Administer medications and manage IV lines as per protocols.
• Conduct neurological assessments and implement stroke recovery measures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy and Social Services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Prior charge experience preferred.
• Experience with patient ratios of 6:1.
• Must have active RN license in Texas or compact state.
• Certification in BLS and NIHSS required.
• Proficiency in Epic charting system.
